CARL SCHMITT : A PROFECIA DA GUERRA GLOBAL

RESUMO: O artigo se propõe a sustentar a atualidade do pensamento schmittiano no que concerne ao conceito de guerra e a sua atual transição para a noção de guerra global. Schmitt previu, com grande clarividência, aquilo que começou a ocorrer nos últimos anos do século XX e que continua se desenvolvendo ainda mais nos dias atuais: uma “guerra global” assimétrica, conduzida pelas grandes potências dotadas de meios de destruição em massa, in primis por parte das potências capitalistas e liberais anglosaxônicas. Ao final, ver-se-á que se trata de uma guerra total, não mais submetida a limitações jurídicas e, portanto, absolutamente destrutiva, mas, todavia, considerada não somente “justa” como também “humanitária”, pois é concebida como uma ação de polícia internacional contra os inimigos da humanidade: contra os novos bárbaros e os novos piratas.

ABSTRACT: The article proposes to argue for the present relevance of Schmittian thinking regarding the concept of war and its current transition to the situation of global war. Schmitt foresaw, with great clearsightedness, what began in the last years of the 20 th century and is still happening: an asymmetrical “global war”, waged by the great powers endowed with weapons of mass destruction, in primis by the Anglo-Saxon capitalist and liberal powers. Finally, we will see that this is a kind of “total war”, no longer subject to legal limitations and, hence, absolutely destructive, but considered not only “fair” but also “humanitarian”, because it is conceived as an international police action against the enemies of mankind, i.e., the new barbarians and the new pirates.
