It is with great satisfaction that we present this fourth issue of our Fundamental Rights & Justice Journal , which keeps upholding the excellence standard aimed for at its conception. On the field of foreign doctrine, we count on works of authors with widely-recognized reputation, representing several Law Faculties from various countries: Francisco Ballaguer ( Granada, Spain), Jef van Langendonck ( Leuven, Belgium ), Miguel Ángel Presno Linera ( Oviedo, Spain), Nuria Belloso Martín ( Burgos, Spain), Fernando Rey Martínez ( Valladolid, Spain) and Jorge Reis Novais ( Lisbon, Portugal). Within the national doctrine selection, we present works from Denise Fincato (PUCRS), Leonardo Grison (UNISINOS), Germano Schwartz (ESADE/ULBRA) and Arnaldo Bastos Santos Neto (UFG) and, lastly, José Ribas Vieira (IBMEC), Alexandre Garrido da Silva (UFU), Bernardo Abreu de Medeiros (PUCRJ), Daniella dos Santos Pessanha (IBMEC), Diogo Alves Brasil (IBMEC), Jorge Gomes de Souza Chaloub (PUCRJ).

Our Editorial Board has been improved and enriched with the addition of Prof. J. D. Miguel Ángel Presno Linera, Chair Constitutional Law Professor at the University of Oviedo, Spain, as well as that of Prof. J. D. Dieter Grimm, Former Cathedratic Professor of the University of Berlin (Humboldt), former Judge at the German Federal Constitutional Court and visiting Professor at Yale and Harvard. We welcome the new Board members and point out that we are already publishing an article of Professor Presno Linera’s, on the theme of torture prohibition in European Communal Law.
